13. Remove the capscrew (4) and locknut (5) securing
the lower position cylinder-mount pin (6) to the
cylinder (7-Front or 8-Rear). Tap the cylinder mount
pin out, and move the cylinder to prevent it from
interfering with axle removal.
14. Remove the capscrew (9) and locknut (10) securing
the axle pivot pin (11) to the frame.
Note: Record the number and location of shims (12) to
ensure correct installation.
15. Remove the pivot pin (11) and shims (12).
16. Remove the axle (13-Front or 14-Rear) from the
vehicle using the jack, hoist or overhead crane and
sling supporting the axle. DO NOT raise or otherwise
disturb the vehicle while removing the axle. Balance
the axle and prevent it from tipping, turning or falling
while removing it from beneath the vehicle. Place the
axle on a suitable support or holding stand.
