Repair/replace ECM
cab harness.
Replace throttle
pedal assembly.
Engine speed drops to low
idle and there is no
response when the throttle
pedal is depressed.
At ECM power harness
female bulkhead connector, at
Pin B, wire [THP] (RED),
check for 5 VDC.
Refer to Section 9.7.2, b.
“Flash-Out of Fault Codes,” to
retrieve fault codes.
Check for 5 VDC at throttle
sensor female harness
connector, at Pin C, wire
[THP1] (RED).
Check resistance across pins
at throttle sensor male
connector. Resistance across
Pins A and C should be
2,000 - 3,000 ohms.
Resistance across Pins A and
B should vary from
approximately 500±100
ohms, with throttle pedal at
rest, to approximately
2,200±100 ohms, with pedal
fully depressed.
At P2, engine control module
50 pin female harness
connector, at Pin 29,
wire [THP] (RED), check
for 5 VDC.
ECM issue.
Contact Cummins.
Repair/replace
engine harness.
Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
