4.1.3 WAN Configuration
There are 4 methods of obtaining IP address for the WAN Port: Static IP Address, Dynamic IP Address, PPPoE
and PPTP Client.

Static IP Address:
Manually specifying the IP address of the WAN Port is applicable for the network
environment where the DHCP service is unavailable. The fields with red asterisks are required to be filled in.
IP address:
the IP address of the WAN port.
Subnet mask:
the subnet mask of the WAN port.
Default gateway:
the gateway of the WAN port.
Preferred DNS Server:
The primary DNS Server of the WAN port.
Alternate DNS Server:
The substitute DNS Server of the WAN port. This is not required.

Dynamic IP address:
It is only applicable for the network environment where the DHCP Server is available in
the network. Click the Renew button to get an IP address.

PPPoE Client:
When selecting PPPoE to connect to the network, please set the “User Name”, “Password”,
“MTU”
and “CLAMPMSS”. There is a Dial on Demand function under PPPoE. If this function is enabled, you
can set a Maximum Idle Time. When the idle time is reached, the system will automatically disconnect itself.
