Important notes
ThevariablespeeddrivescanbemountedinaUorZconfiguration(Fig. 1andFig. 2), butsize
40 / type 11.213/218 can only be mounted in the U configuration. The fixed pulley flanges
of the spring-loaded pulley (output side) and the mechanically variable pulley (input side)
must always be set up to be diagonally opposite.

Mounting on the shaft
During assembly, the shaft shoulders must be aligned in the same plane to ensure that the
belt is also in a straight line.
The adjustable pulleys are manufactured with an ISO fit H7. ISO fit k6 is required for the
shaft on which the adjustable pulleys are mounted, and fit m6 for size 40 with d=55 or
above.
The dimensions must not be less than the minimum shaft lengths and diameters in Tab. 1!

Minimum dimensions of the shafts in mm
In general, the mechanically adjustable pulley is fitted to the input shaft (motor shaft) and
thespring-loadedvariablepulleyisfittedtotheoutputshaft, andaxiallysecuredbyascrew.
To be able to do this, the shaft ends must have a center bore as per DIN332/2 to make it
possible to pull on the variable pulley (Fig. 3).
Stop!
On a through shaft, the axial fixing of the variable pulley is made by retaining
rings (circlips) or collars.
