Tab. 2
Center distance (a) and belt length (l)
Attaching the adjustment device
Adjusting force ”F” (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2
)
should be applied centrally to the bearing of the
mechanically-adjustable pulley. If the force is applied at one point (not for sizes 25, 31 and
40), then the adjusting force ”F” should take effect on the ball bearing over the arc marked
out by the wrap-around of the wide section V-belt.
Mounting the central adjustment
Use the handwheel to turn the spindle (1) in the bearing cap (2) until the knurled nut (3) is
in position. Push the pre-assembled spindle bearing (4) into the hub of the
mechanically-adjustable pulley and fit the circlip/retaining ring (5).
Place the wide section V-belt in position as desribed in the chapter ”Assembly”. Attach the
radial fixing to the toggle (11) (the toggle should be guided by a slot). Take care that the
toggle (11) can move freely over the entire adjustment length.
Setting the central adjustment
Switch on the driveand usethe handwheelto adjustthe speedas required. The spindlenuts
(6) and knurled nut (3) must be tightened onto the face of the housing and secured by the
grub screws (7).
The speed range that is set up must not exceed the output speed range that is given in the
catalog.
The drive belt must not run on its inside surface at any speed setting (noisy running). If
necessary, trim the speed range and adjust the spindle nuts accordingly (6).
If the handwheel has a setting pointer, then check, after setting the speed, that the
indicated value matches the actual speed. If there is a difference, loosen the grub screw (10)
and pull the setting pointer out of the handwheel (8).
Then, keeping the scale upright, rotate the setting pointer (9) until the indicated value
matches the actual speed. Push the setting pointer into the handwheel again, in this
position, and fix it with the grub screw (10).
