8. Cut the gel to the appropriate size with the cutting tool and place in the gel frame. For PVDF
membrane, use the gel frame to center the membrane on the cutting stage.
9. Acquire an image of the target gel or membrane. See Section 3 for image acquisition
instructions.
10. Once back in the SpotOn Cutting System program, open the image that was just acquired.
11. Select spots for cutting. Use the left mouse button to bring up the Zoom box, and use the right
mouse button to select a position for cutting.
12. After you have selected the spots to be excised, start the cutting run.

How To Use Photo Enhancer and the Digital Camera
This section covers the steps for taking an image and saving the image file using the
Photo Enhancer program. More specific instructions on using Photo Enhancer such as editing
an image, are found in the "DC120 Zoom Digital Camera User's Guide" supplied with this
manual.
3.1 Turning on the Digital Camera
The camera is turned on by opening the camera cover slide located at the bottom left
hand corner of the camera. The cover is moved to the left to turn the camera on and to the right
to turn the camera off.
