CHAPTER 7: DRIVES
Replacing Optical Drive(s)
Follow the instructions in “Before You Begin” on page 1. 6.
Remove the new drive from its packaging. 2.
Save the original packaging for storing or shipping the optical drive.
Remove the optical-drive bay filler, if applicable: 3.
Pull the securing tab on the optical-drive bracket and slide the optical-drive
bay filler out through the front of the computer.
Pull the securing tab on the optical-drive bracket and slide the optical drive 4.
into the optical-drive bay, until the securing tab snaps into place.
Connect the power cable and the data cable to the optical drive. 5.
Close the left side-panel. 6.
Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and then turn 7.
them on.
