Receiving documents
Receiving documents automatically over a dedi­
cated fax line_______________________ __________
When the FAXPHONK is set up For a dedicated line, it automatically receives docu­
ments \\ hene\er a ctill comes over the Fax line.
The FAXPHONF cannot receive automatically it'you are making copies, printing re­
ports, or registering inFormation. .See pg.7.^.
Make sure the FAXPHONE is set to receive over a
dedicated fax line.

Press [ANS HOOK UP/MANUAL].
VFike sLire both the ANS HOOK UP ([^) and
MANLFAF ( - ) icons do not appear on the FCD

d he FAXPHONF assumes all incoming calls are From another Fax machine sending a
document. It receives the docuinetits auloinatically.

\ ou can set the F.AXPFFONF to monitor all incoming calls over the lax/telephone line.
When the FAXPFtONE receives an incotning call, it checks to see it the call is Ironi
another Fax machine trying to send a document or Frotn someone wanting to talk to
you.
The F.AXPFIONF cannot reeetve automatically it you arc making copies, prittting re­
ports, or registering inFormation. See pg.73.
Make sure you have set the FAXPHONE for both
fax and telephone communication (FAX/TEL
SWITCH is ON).

When the F.AXPFtONF receives a cal
Fax machine or From a telephone.
, it checks to see whether the call is From another
IF the INCOMING RING Function is set to OFF. the FAXPHONE does not ring
when it receives a call From another Fax machine that is trying to send a document.
This is so that you arc not disturbed when your FAXPHONE is cotnmunicating with
another tax machine. 1 he FAXPHONTv automatically receives the docutnent.
IF the call is From a persoti, the FAXPHONE rings to alert you to pick up the phone.
IF v o u do not pick up the handset within 13 seconds, the F-AXPHONE stops ringing.
It cliecks aeain to make sure the call is not From a Fax machine and then hangs up.
