Installation
Installing the head and payload
1. Unpack and check the head for any signs of damage (see Unpacking the head on
page 15).
2. Mount the head onto the pedestal or tripod (see Mounting the head on page 16).
3. Engage the tilt lock on the head (see Locking the camera cradle on page 29).
4. Mount the complete payload (camera, lens, pan bars, etc.) onto the head (see
Mounting the camera and payload on page 18).
5. Make all the electrical connections between the head, camera, pedestal and studio
(see Electrical connections on page 20).
6. Balance the head and adjust the Centre of Gravity (see Balancing the head and
payload on page 23).
Unpacking the head
Before unpacking the head, always inspect the shipping container for evidence of damage and
report any damage immediately. Always place the shipping container in the upright position as
marked on the packaging.
Remove the head from the packaging, ensuring that all transport packing and retaining fixings are
removed. Inspect the head for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Report any
damage immediately to Vinten Radamec or your local Vinten Radamec distributor.
CAUTION! The installation of the head must be performed by competent and trained
personnel.
WARNING!
Heavy – 21 kg (46 lb).
DO NOT lift the head by the camera cradle.
