SEAM FINISHES

Seam edges support the garment and should be given a durable finish where

fabrics have a tendency to ravel.

The

zigzag

stitch BL is ideal for such finishing. Place the stitching near the

edge of the seam allowance, and then trim away excess fabric.

For an overedged seam, the blind stitch BO makes a durable bulkless finish.

Good for straight grain, lengthwise seams.

Seam edges should be trimmed evenly, and the stitch then formed over the
