The 5-thread safety stitch is sewn with two needles, two loopers and three loopers.

( 1 ) Thread right looper (orange path) (see page 19)

(2 ) Thread left looper (yellow path) (see page 15)

( 3 ) Thread chainstitch looper (purple path) (see page 12)

(4 ) Thread right overedge needle (green path)

( 5 ) Thread chainstitch needle (blue path)

( 6 ) Correct thread tensions for 5-thread safey stitch

Be sure the threads are correctly threaded otherwise

proper tension cannot be obtained.

Set each tension dial to settings shown below and test sew on a sample of your fabric.

When right looper thread lies on the underside of
