6. evaluation of results

Body weight /Body fat percentage

The body mass index (BMI) is a number that is often called upon to evaluate body weight. The

number is calculated from body weight and height, the formula is – body mass index = body

weight : height². The measurement unit for BMI is [kg/m²]. According to the BMI, weight is

classified for adults (20 years and over) using the following values (source: WHO):

Underweight Normal weight

Overweight

16 - 18,4

18,5 - 24,9

25 - 40

Note that with very muscular physiques (body builders), the BMI interpretation will show overweight.

The reason for this is that no account is taken of well above average muscle mass in the BMI formula.

Trend display

This scale hase a trend display, in which the value currently measured is compared with the averages of

the last 5 measurements.

– Trend display up : present value is higher than the average of the last 5 measurements.

– Trend display down : present value is lower than the average of the last 5 measurements.

– Trend display up and down : present value is the same as the average of the last 5 measurements.
