INTERFACE
This section describes the plug-in SMPTE-310M Data Interface used with the SDM-2020
Demodulator.
12.1
SMPTE-310M/SSI Data Interface (PL/6175-2)
IMPORTANT
This module is used in either the SDM-2020 Modulator or Demodulator.
The SMPTE 310M interface is also based upon the DVB’s SSI specification but operates
only at the ATSC-8VSB data rate of 19.392 658 Mbps (the ATSC-16VSB rate of 38.785
316 Mbps is not implemented). The data is input/output on a BNC female connector as an
800 mV signal with biphase mark encoding. A separate auxiliary connector provides fault
status.
