OTE

:

1. The radio must be programmed to disable emergency functions from pin 9.
2. All common ground connections should be made at the radio to prevent ground loops.

Settings and Adjustments

The desk set housing must be open with the circuit board exposed. These procedures assume that the
base station has been properly adjusted.

Transmit Level Adjustment

This level is factory set to provide 80 mV

RMS

into a 560 ohm load, which is adequate for many

applications. If adjustment is needed, perform the following steps:

1. Monitor the station transmitter with an RF service monitor or communications system analyzer.

2. Talk into the handset and adjust the level of the TX audio level pot 4 on the main circuit board for an

approximate 60% average level with peaks of 100% modulation.

3. If a service monitor is not available, use the ac voltmeter to monitor the transmit level at the terminal

strip screw terminals 4 (−) and 5 (+) for the audio level required by the radio station. Refer to the
radio manual for the audio level specifications.
