SPECIFY THE HT4001 POWER SUPPLY

HT4001 Power supply

This unit houses four 100-amp, 15kHz chopper power supplies to produce constant
current DC output, variable from 100 to 400 amps. This power supply comes either with
(w/) or without (w/o) Torch Height Control (THC). The HT4001 power supply intercon-
nects with the RHF console, IHS, timer/counter, computer interface, remote V/C, water
muffler, gas console, motor valve console via the gas console, the optional slave power
supply, and the workpiece.

Determine the placement of the power supply and the voltage available at the site. Multi-voltage
power supplies are wired for only one voltage from the factory. In order to have the factory
pre-set the power supply to an alternate voltage, first order the part number that contains the
correct voltage from the parts list on page 1-7. Next, see if that power supply is normally wired
for the desired voltage by checking the table below. If you want it wired for the optional voltage,
add the number in the right hand column to the number listed on page 1-7 when ordering.

SPECIFY THE H401 SLAVE POWER SUPPLY

H401 Slave Power supply

Order the H401 slave only if cutting with over 400 amps.

The H401 is a three-phase power source using SCRs in a full-wave bridge rectifier circuit
for providing up to 400 amps of power at 100% duty cycle. The H401 is paralleled with
the HT4001 power supply and acts as a slave power source for the HT4001 system when
cutting with over 400 amps (Note: The total HT4001 system cuts with a maximum of 750
amps.).

Determine the placement of the slave power supply and the voltage available at the site.

Note:

The slave must be located within 20 feet of the HT4001 power supply (see slave
interconnect kit below).

Order the H401 slave power supply.

3

SPECIFY THE SLAVE INTERCONNECT KIT

If ordering a slave power supply, you must order the slave interconnect kit. This kit contains two
PC boards and a wire harness that have to be mounted in the H-401 power supply as well as two
interconnecting 4/0 cables and a serial data cable. The cables attach directly to the HT4001
power supply.

The 4/0 cable length in this kit is 20 feet long. The serial data cable is 25 feet long.
Order the slave interconnect kit.
