7.3 Playback Routing and Mixing

In addition to standard monitoring of inputs through physical outputs, the Lynx mixer is capable of
sophisticated routing and mixing of playback and record sources. One can monitor playback from several
applications through a single output, combine live input and playback streams, and record a single source
into several applications with the power of this flexible tool.

In the Lynx Mixer Output Window, clicking one of the ten Output Monitor Source
Buttons for each channel provides the opportunity to select a “Play” source, which
can be any of the 16 playback device channels available to the system. For Digital
Out 1 (Left and Right), the system default is to monitor Play1 (Left and Right),
which appear as the monitor sources P1L and P1R. In this state, any audio assigned
to play out Play1 would be heard out of Digital Out 1.
