User’s Guide

On these early panels, the labels “Source” and “Dest” at the left have no meaning. Operators
must ignore these colors and these labels.

The newer CP6464, a 64×64 panel, does not suffer from the fixed coloring of the earlier panels.
Any button can be green or amber (or red), depending on its function. For the CP6464, source
buttons are in fact green and destination buttons are in fact amber, regardless of their position
on the panel.

The color red indicates one of several conditions. See

Red Buttons

, following. A button that is

unlit is either (1) undefined or (2) momentarily turned off.

Figures 6-1, 6-2, and 6-3 show the CP6464, CP6401, and CP32-6464 respectively:

Fig. 6-2: CP6401

Fig. 6-3: CP32-6464

There are two fixed-function buttons on all control panels at the top right, as shown in Figures 6-
1, 6-2, and 6-3. T
he two fixed-function buttons are locks:

Panel Lock (the rightmost button). Prevents accidental changes on the entire panel.

Destination Lock. A locked destination is one to which a source may not be routed. This pre-
vents the route(s) to the destination from being changed. When the lock is released, the des-
tination’s content can be changed.
