10 Maintaining the Sunny String-Monitor-Cabinet
The String Monitors are usually installed near the modules in the open air. The larger the plant, the
more String Monitors are required. This must be taken into account for maintenance work. In the
following, some steps are listed which serve as maintenance instruction.
1. First, check the installation site for accessibility, inflammable materials and safe positioning and
then make sure that the Sunny String-Monitor-Cabinet is attached to a horizontal installation and
that a sufficient sun shading system is available, for example by an installation in the PV field.
2. Check the enclosure for damage and make sure that the switch cabinet doors as well as the
door mechanism are securely positioned and properly sealed.

• Only work on the device when it is switched off and voltage-free.
Maintenance in the Sunny String-Monitor-Cabinet
All other steps of maintenance work are carried out inside the Sunny String-Monitor
Cabinet or affect the cabling leading inside.
