Fault

Cause of fault

Explanation/remedy

By

The genera-

tor starts more

frequently than

normal or it

pauses

The load during

the night and early

morning phase

is higher than

expected, but not

high enough for

the generator to

run continuously

There may be several starts and stops, while the battery is dis-

charged and partially recharged.

"

Increase Generator Minimum Run Time to increase the

amount of battery charge before a stop, reducing the

number of starts and stops.

E

The battery is not

working properly

This is usually because the system load has increased or the

supply of renewable energy from solar has decreased.

"

Another reason could be that the battery efficiency has

decreased with age or due to a failure of cells in the bat-

tery.

"

Use the Performance Data Events to determine the load

level and the reasons for the generator starts and stops.

"

Check the measured values in the "Data View" menu, espe-

cially the totals for the total battery input energy and the

output energy. These must be compared over a period of

one week to see the change in the total values .

E

The device may

carry out regener-

ative charging that

can take several

hours.

Check if the "Equalise" display is on.

"

There may be a continuous load on the system. Check that

no equipment has been permitted to be switched on. The

"Now", "Today" and "AC History" areas of the "Data View"

tab provide information on the output of the consumer

equipment check

E

"

If the generator re-starts around one minute after its last

stop, the battery is discharged, the battery voltage is low

or a load is present. In the "Now" area of the "Data View"

tab, check the Generator Running Reason.

"

You can switch off the generator permanently by setting

the generator to not available or set the generator control

unit to deactivated.

E

Problems when

starting/stop-

ping/switching

off the device

Device does not

start

If the displays remain dark when switching on the device, there

is probably no DC voltage.

Check that the main fuse of the battery is closed. Re-try. If the

device does not switch on again, contact your installation engi-

neer / system integrator.

"

Check that the main fuse of the battery is closed. Re-try. If

the device does not switch on again, contact your installa-

tion engineer / system integrator.

E

"

If when starting the device the "Shutdown" display is on, in

"Attention required" on the "GS eco link", in the "Now" area,

check the reason on the "Data View" tab. Make a note of

the reason given, and contact your installation engineer /

system integrator.
