If your PC Card is not recognized by PC Card Ser vices, a memor y
conflict may be the cause. Card Ser vices software requires a 4K
memor y window to read the Card Information Structure (CIS) of
the PC Card. Make sure that this window is excluded from your
memor y manager (EMM386.EXE). To know which window Card
Ser vices is using, refer to your Card Ser vices documentation.

If your PC Card is not automatically configured by PC Card Ser-
vices, your Card Ser vices Generic Enabler may have been improp-
erly configured. Most Card Ser vices provide Generic Enable that
automatically assigns the next available COM Por t to the device.
The name of the Generic Enable may differ depending on your
Card Ser vices provider. For more information, refer to your Card
Ser vices documentation.

The PC Card is using a por t that is already being used by another
device. Normally, PC Card Ser vices assigns an available COM por t
for each newly inser ted device and maintains a list of COM por ts
in use. To solve this problem, use PC Card Ser vices to assign an
available por t to your PC Card.
