Is Your Power On/Off Control Unit Upgrade-Compatible?

Only "+Aux" versions of Remote Power On/Off are capable of being upgraded. "+Aux" versions are easily identified by
the writing on the front bezel of the Power On/Off control unit. Your unit must have either "Power On/Off +Aux" or
"P

BOOT" printed on its face.

All "+Aux" versions are ultimately compatible with any of the three upgrade kits. However, before purchasing or
performing an upgrade you will need to open the unit and look at the circuit board to verify the following:

I) The original ROM chip at position U2 is pressed into a socket (it is removable, not soldered to the board)

II) Position R14 does not contain a resistor (it should contain a solid jumper wire or nothing)

To verify your unit is fully user-upgradable, begin by removing all of the telephone cables and the power connection
from the rear of the Power On/Off +Aux control unit. NOTE: This step will cause the Intelligent Power Module (IPM) to
deactivate and power-OFF the attached devices. If necessary, the IPM's 0|1 switch can be toggled to the "1" position
(override-ON) before disconnecting the cables in order to keep the IPM in an ON state.

Next turn the unit upside down and remove the four Phillips-head screws from the unit. Once these are removed, the top
half of the control unit can easily be removed to expose the unit's circuit board. Following is a picture of the circuit
board. On it, both the ROM chip location (U2) and position R14 are outlined in white.
