NOTE: If you were NOT able to view your DVR through your external IP address, contact SVAT’s toll-free number for technical support. If
you can not access your external IP you will likely not be able to view your DVR through a DDNS website.
FORWARDING OUTSIDE YOUR NETWORK
Instead of having to remember and enter your IP address every time you want to access the DVR online, you can set up the DVR so that it is
associated with a website URL (domain name) that is easy for you to remember.
NOTE: The instructions on creating a dynamic DNS may have changed since the writing of this manual.
SETTING UP A DYNAMIC DNS ACCOUNT
1. Open Internet Explorer and type http://www.dyndns.com in the address bar.
2. Create a new account by clicking the “Create Account” link.
3. Enter your preferred user name, email address, and password.
4. The optional information can be left as is, unless you would like to enter it.
5. Read and agree to the Terms of Service by checking the boxes and click
“Create Account”.
6. Check your email for a confirmation message from the site. You need to
click the link in the body of this message in order to activate your account.
NOTE: The message may take up to 24 hours to arrive in your inbox. If
you do not see the message in your inbox, check your junk or spam
folders in case it was sent there.
