FUNCTIONS

1.1 Indication of Important Data

Actual Load

The actual load of the UPS is indicated as a percentage of its
nominal load capacity.

Battery Charging Status

While the battery is being charged (green LED 5 on), the actual
charging status of the battery is indicated as a percentage of the
nominal battery capacity.

Battery Autonomy

While the battery is being discharged (yellow LED 4 on), the actual
battery autonomy is indicated as a percentage of the nominal
battery autonomy.

1.2 Battery Monitoring

Low Battery

The Low Battery alarm indicates that only 20% of the battery
autonomy is left. The colour of the LEDs for battery autonomy
indication changes from green to red. In addition the alarm buzzer
beeps.

Battery Test

The SOLA 4000 UPS automatically performs a battery test every
30 days.

Whenever the test shows that the battery is damaged or its capac-
ity is reduced, the red LED "BATTERY TEST", located on the
operating panel is illuminated and the buzzer beeps.

This test is of vital importance, since it monitors the battery, warn-
ing of possible failures caused by reduced battery autonomy due to
defective batteries.

However this function can be deactivated with DSW2 - 3 on the
CPU/NCP pcb inside the UPS front door. In this case the LED
"BATTERY TEST" is off.
