TruSurround and Virtual Dolby Digital

This player, by means of the TruSurround* technology of
SRS Labs Inc., processes surround encoded stereo au-
dio and multi-channel audio and reproduces Virtual Sur-
round with only the two front speakers.
Particularly, when the playback audio is Dolby Digital
multi-channel audio, the Virtual Dolby Digital function
automatically works, and a surround sound with a greater
sense of presence will be reproduced.

* TruSurround and the symbol

are trademarks of SRS

Labs, Inc. in the United States and selected foreign coun-
tries. TruSurround technology has been commercialized by
means of a license from SRS Labs, Inc.

Note
÷ This function does not work when the DTS audio and 96

kHz PCM audio of DVD is played back or when a CD is
played back.

÷ When

AUDIO

of the remote control is pressed in the Virtual

Dolby Digital mode, VDD is displayed in the upper left of the
screen.

÷ When [Dolby Digital Output] of [Audio 1] of the “Initial Setup

Screen” is set to [Dolby Digital

3 PCM] in Virtual Dolby Dig-

ital mode, audio is not output from the digital output termi-
nal. (See page 40)

÷ The surround effect of some discs may be small depending

on the disc.
