Getting Started
Turning the Camera On and Off

Open the lens cover.
The camera turns on and the power indicator turns on.
If the Initial Setting screen appears when you turn the camera on,
follow the procedure on p.34 to set the display language and/or current
date and time.

Close the lens cover.
The camera turns off and the power indicator turns off.
The memory card is checked automatically
when the camera turns on. + appears on the
LCD monitor when there is no SD Memory
Card inserted in the camera. In this case,
images and sound files will be saved in the
built-in memory.
r appears instead of a when the write-protect
switch on the SD Memory Card is in the locked
position. Images and sound cannot be
recorded when the write-protect switch is locked.
