Sharpness

The Sharpness feature allows you to set the default for the Sharpness option on
the Image Quality screen. Changing the setting adjusts the amount of image
edge definition on scanned prints. Use the sharp levels to increase the amount of
edge definition for original documents such as maps, line art, or graphics that
have crisp lines. Use the soft levels to decrease the amount of edge definition to
scan photographs or any other documents for which softer, less focused, output
prints are desired. This option is especially useful when scanning very coarse dot
screens.

Touch the More... tab.

Touch the Sharpness button. The Sharpness screen appears.

Touch the button for the desired amount of image edge definition. The available
range is 2 (Sharpest) to 2 (Softest).

Touch the Close button to return to the Feature Defaults 2 screen.
