Inspection, points to verify
Before each use, do a visual inspection of the
condition of the straps (especially the ends) and the
safety stitching. Look for cuts in the webbing, wear
and damage due to use, to heat, and to contact with
chemical products, etc.
Be particularly careful to check for cut or worn threads.
The ASAP’SORBER must not be used after a fall
that results in any damage or tearing of the product
whatsoever. Inspect the ASAP’SORBER immediately
after any fall and replace if damaged.

Contact PETZL if there is any doubt about the condition
of the device.
Instructions for use
Preparation (Diagram 1)
Put the STRING on the ASAP’SORBER. Clip locking
connectors (auto-locking connectors recommended)
through the ASAP’SORBER and the STRING. The
STRING allows the user to keep the carabiners oriented
along the major axis (the strongest) and protects
the ends of the lanyard from wear. Do not use the
ASAP’SORBER without the STRING.
Limitations on use (Diagram 2)
Personal protective equipment for a single person.
The ASAP’SORBER is an energy absorber with integral
lanyard and is a component of a complete fall arrest
system. It is designed to link the harness to the ASAP
mobile fall arrester, allowing more space between the
user and the safety rope.
Obligations (Diagram 3)
- The total length of the ensemble (energy
absorber and connectors) must be no longer than
60 cm for the ASAP’SORBER 40 and 40 cm for the
ASAP’SORBER 20.
WARNING: never extend the length of your
ASAP’SORBER.
- The anchor point for the system should preferably be
located above the user’s position and should meet the
requirements of the EN 795 standard.
- Do not allow the ASAP’SORBER to become twisted
around the safety rope.
Clearance = amount of clear free fall space
between the ASAP and the ground (Diagram 4)
The clearance below the user must be suffi cient to
prevent the user from striking any obstacle in case of
a fall.
- Clearance defi ned by the requirements of the
EN353-2 standard = L (length of link between ASAP
and harness) plus 1 m stopping distance (locking of
the ASAP and tearing of the absorber) plus 2.50 m to
account for the height of the user and the elasticity of
the system.

Les ASAP’SORBER ne doivent pas être réutilisés
après une chute qui déclenche une détérioration ou un
déchirement même partiel. Dans ce cas, ces produits
doivent être impérativement remplacés.

Prescriptions d’utilisation
Préparation (Schéma 1)
Insérez les STRING sur l’ASAP’SORBER.
Mousquetonnez l’ASAP’SORBER et le STRING avec
des connecteurs à verrouillage automatique de
préférence. Le STRING permet de rigidifi er la position
du connecteur dans le grand axe (le plus résistant) et
de protéger des frottements l’extrémité de la longe.
N’utilisez pas un ASAP’SORBER sans le STRING.
Champ d’application

Equipement de protection individuelle (une seule
personne). L’ASAP’SORBER est un absorbeur d’énergie
à longe intégrée. Composant d’un système d’arrêt
des chutes, l’ASAP’SORBER est conçu pour relier le
harnais et l’antichute mobile ASAP tout en écartant la
corde de sécurité de l’utilisateur.
Obligations (Schéma 3)
- La longueur totale de l’ensemble « absorbeur
d’énergie plus connecteurs » ne doit pas dépasser
60 cm pour l’ASAP’SORBER 40 et 40 cm pour
l’ASAP’SORBER 20.
ATTENTION, ne rallongez jamais votre
ASAP’SORBER.
- L’ancrage du système doit être de préférence situé au
dessus de la position de l’utilisateur et doit répondre
aux exigences de la norme EN 795.
- Evitez tout entortillement de l’absorbeur d’énergie
autour de la corde de sécurité.
Tirant d’air = hauteur libre entre ASAP et sol

La hauteur libre sous l’utilisateur doit être suffi sante
pour qu’il ne heurte pas d’obstacle en cas de chute.
- Tirant d’air suivant l’exigence de la norme EN353-2
= L (longueur de la liaison ASAP/harnais) plus 1 m de
distance d’arrêt (blocage de l’ASAP et déchirement de
l’absorbeur) plus 2,50 m pour tenir compte de la taille
de l’utilisateur et de l’élasticité du système.

Zu kontrollierende Punkte
Führen Sie vor jeder Verwendung eine visuelle
Kontrolle des Bandmaterials (vor allem der Enden)
und der Sicherheitsnähte durch. Stellen Sie fest, ob
das Gurtband Schnitte, Abrieb oder sonstige Schäden
aufweist, die auf Abnutzung, Hitze oder Kontakt mit
chemischen Produkten usw. zurückzuführen sind.
Achten Sie besonders auf durchtrennte oder
abgenutzte Nähte.
Der ASAP’SORBER darf nach einem Sturz, bei dem
das Produkt aufgerissen oder anderweitig beschädigt
wurde, nicht mehr verwendet werden. Überprüfen
Sie den ASAP’SORBER nach jedem Sturz sofort und
ersetzen Sie ihn, falls er beschädigt wurde.

Sollten irgendwelche Zweifel hinsichtlich des
Zustands eines Produkts bestehen, senden Sie es zur
Überprüfung an PETZL.
Gebrauchsanleitung
Vorbereitung (Abb.1)
Befestigen Sie den STRING am ASAP’SORBER.
Hängen Sie nun Verriegelungskarabiner (Karabiner
mit automatischer Verriegelung empfohlen) in den
ASAP’SORBER und den STRING ein. Der STRING
hält den Karabiner in Längsrichtung (für die höchste
Festigkeit) positioniert und schützt die Enden des
Verbindungsmittels vor Abrieb. Verwenden Sie den
ASAP’SORBER nicht ohne STRING.
Verwendungseinschränkungen (Abb. 2)
Persönliche Schutzausrüstung für eine einzelne
Person. Der ASAP’SORBER ist ein Falldämpfer, der als
Verbindungsmittel und Bestandteil eines vollständigen
Auffangsystems zu verwenden ist. Er ist darauf
ausgelegt, das ASAP (mitlaufendes Auffanggerät
an beweglicher Führung) mit dem Auffanggurt zu
verbinden, sodass der Anwender einen größeren
Abstand zum Seil hat.
Vorraussetzungen (Abb. 3)
- Die Gesamtlänge der Komponenten (Falldämpfer
und Verbindungselemente) darf 60 cm beim
ASAP’SORBER 40 und 40 cm beim ASAP’SORBER
20 betragen.
WARNUNG: Verlängern Sie den ASAP’SORBER
unter keinen Umständen.
- Der Ankerpunkt des Systems sollte sich möglichst
oberhalb des benutzers befi nden, der den
Anforderungen der Norm EN 795 entsprechen muss.
- Achten Sie darauf, dass sich Führungsseil und
ASAP’SORBER nicht ineinander verdrehen.
Sturzraum = Freier Sturzraum (keine
Hindernisse) zwischen ASAP und Boden
(Abb. 4).
Der Sturzraum unter dem Anwender muss so
bemessen sein, dass dieser im Falle eines Sturzes auf
kein Hindernis fällt.
- Der Sturzraum wird gemäß EN 353-2 wie folgt
defi niert = L (Länge der Verbindung zwischen
ASAP und Auffanggurt) plus 1 m Abbremsstrecke
(Blockieren des ASAP und Aufreißen des Falldämpfers)
plus 2,50 m, um die Höhe des Anwenders und die
Dehnung des Systems zu berücksichtigen.
