then be reached from everywhere in the network via its Host name or

the IP address.
The system administrator must create an e-mail address on the mail

server from which the measured values, messages and failures are

sent. The names or IP addresses of the mail server for inbox and

outbox must also be provided by the system administrator. If user

name and password are required by the mail server, these must also

be entered.
Note:

Some mail servers are configured in such a way that the password

expires after a certain and must be reedited. If possible, have this

function deactivated otherwise you have to reedit the passwords in

the set cycle and transfer them to the signal conditioning instrument.
Configuration of the e-mail account
Here you can enter a name which should be displayed instead of the

e-mail address. The name is for a better readability at the addressee

because the real account name is using from time to time a not very

meaningful expression.

The e-mail address constitutes the actual account name that is set

up for the signal conditioning instrument on the mail server. If no alias

is given, this address is shown to the addressee as the sender of the

e-mail.

Since the signal conditioning instrument cannot receive e-mails, there

is the possibility to state an alternative e-mail address. An answering

mail is sent to this address if the addressee is answering to the e-mail

of the signal conditioning instrument.
Configuration of the e-mail server
Enter the name of the outbox server provided by the system adminis-

trator. Alternatively, its IP address can also be entered.

Enter the name of the inbox server provided by the system adminis-

trator. As an alternative, its IP address can be entered.

Depending on the configuration of the mail server, a user name and

password can be prompted for by the inbox as well as outbox server.

Enter, if necessary, the user name and password provided by the

system administrator.

8.3 E-mail transmission via modem/Dial-up

With this alternative, the e-mail transmission is carried out via a

modem and dial-up connection (PPP dial-out connection, see also

chapter "Measured value enquiry via RS232"). For this, an external

Internet and e-mail provider is required - registration with the provider

in advance is of course necessary. This solution should be only used

no company network or mail server is available, because setup is

more detailed and operational reliability not as high. Furthermore
