Overview of XP Remote Web Console Operations 12
The XP Remote Web Console Java™ applet program displays the configuration information for the attached
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystems and enables you to perform the following types of operations:
•
Enabling and disabling options (see section 2-7)
•
Viewing the basic information, equipment and status information of the subsystem (see section 3-1-4
•
Launching the desired option (see section 3-1-5
•
Editing the user account list (storage administrator with superuser authority and storage partition
administrator with superuser authority only; see section 3-3 )
•
Setting the XP Remote Web Console environment parameters (storage administrator with superuser
authority only; see section 3-4
•
Downloading the configuration files (storage administrator with superuser authority only; see section 3-5 )
•
Restoring backup files (storage administrator with superuser authority only; see section 3-6
•
Viewing XP Remote Web Console information and changing your own password (see section 3-7 )
•
Downloading XP Remote Web Console trace files using FD Dump Tool (storage administrator with
superuser authority only; see section 3-8 )
•
Setting SNMP Agent properties (storage administrator only; see Chapter 4)

Table 2-5). Please refer to the appropriate user’s guide for more details about XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array

1-2 XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem
The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem offers the following consolidated features to implement more
efficient storage management systems in a large-scale storage area network (SAN) environment:
•
Improved capacity and scalability. The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem supports up to 16,384
logical device (LDEV) addresses per subsystem, and can provide up to 138 TB of storage capacity.
•
Continuous data availability. The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem employs the Hierarchical Star
Network (Hi-Star™) architecture to improve total performance of internal data transfer. Hi-Star™
architecture uses high-speed crossbar switches among processors on channel adapter boards, processors
on disk adapter boards, and cache memory. The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem also provides
up to 128 fibre-channel interface paths or 32 serial-interface paths, and enables simultaneous data transfer
through each path.
•
Connectivity for SAN infrastructure. The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem can be configured for
all-mainframe, all-open, or multiplatform operations. The XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array supports fibre-
channel ports and provides a variety of feature options to meet SAN requirements.
