Caution for LUN Security XP Extension: When you uninstall LUN Security XP Extension, an error might occur even

if the Permitted Volumes column of the License Key pane indicates that the licensed capacity is 0 TB (zero

terabytes). To remove the error and continue uninstallation, follow these steps:

1.

Open the LUN Security XP Extension pane, and then find logical volumes that are unusable as S-VOLs

(secondary volumes).

2.

Change the settings of the logical volumes so that the logical volumes are usable as S-VOLs.

3.

Return to the License Key pane and then uninstall LUN Security XP Extension.

2-8 Allocating Licensed Capacity among Storage Logical
Partitions

2-8-1 Overview of Storage Logical Partitions

Disk/Cache Partition allows a storage administrator with write permission to this product to create and manage

two or more Storage Logical Partitions (SLPRs). If you are using Disk/Cache Partition and have created two or

more Storage Logical Partitions (SLPRs), you will also need to either purchase an unlimited license for an option,

or allocate the license capacity for that option among the various SLPRs. You will also need to enable or disable

each option for each of the storage logical partitions. You cannot make any resource settings for the SLPRs until

the license capacity has been allocated.
Only storage administrators can make settings for SLPR0. A storage partition administrator only has authority

within the assigned storage logical partition. The storage administrator can also assign write permission for one

or more of the following functions:

Volume Management

LUN Security XP Extension

LUN Manager

Cache LUN XP

Auto LUN XP

XP Remote Web Console

JAVA API

Auto LUN XP has different parameters. Once you have installed the options on the License Key pane, a

storage administrator can monitor the information on the entire subsystem, whether or not the license has

been allocated to each SLPR. If a storage partition administrator wants to use the Auto LUN XP, the Auto

LUN XP license must be allocated to that SLPR.

After the license key has been installed for the XP Remote Web Console Java™ API, a storage administrator with

write permission for Disk/Cache Partition can then log on to the subsystem, enable the various product options,

and allocate the license capacities to the storage logical partitions as needed, using the License Key Partition

Definition pane. Section 2-8-2 describes the License Key Partition Definition pane, and section 2-8-3 describes

how to use that pane.
