3-3-1 Control Panel, User Entry Tab

To open the User Entry tab of the Control Panel (see Figure 3-30), click Option (

) on the upper right corner of

any of the XP Remote Web Console panes. The User Entry tab is the default view.

The User Entry Tab displays the User Account List, which includes the following information:

No. - displays the user entries in the order in which they were created, with the default user at the top of the

user account list. Storage partition administrators with superuser authority are able to see the serial numbers

for the entire user account list, but can only edit the user account list for their partition. Note: There can be

up to 500 users per subsystem, including the default user.

User ID - displays the user name. Each user ID must be unique. A round icon (

) indicates superuser

authority. A square icon (

) indicates general user authority.

The SLPR drop-down list allows you to select the information that is displayed.

SLPR All displays all user accounts.

SA displays only storage administrators. Storage administrators have access to the entire subsystem.

Selecting a SLPR number and name will display the users for that SLPR.

Write Permission - displays icons for the options the user has Modify access to. See section 3-1-1-1 Error!

New Entry - opens the User Entry pane (see Figure 3-21), which allows you to add a new user entry.

Edit - opens the User Entry pane (see Figure 3-23), which allows you to click Edit and change the selected

user entry.

Del. - deletes the selected user entry. Note: The default user cannot be deleted from the user account list.

Exit (

) - closes the Control Panel.
