7 UDM-0404 4x4 Multi-Format Distribution Hub
Default IP Address
The default IP address of the UDM-0404 is 192.168.0.96.
Once the UDM-0404 is switched on, use the Setup option in the UDM WebConsole to configure the
correct IP address (see the Configuration - Setup Page section on page 37).
The IP address may also be configured via the serial port (refer to the Backend Commands section on
page 72).
Serial Port
The Serial port on the rear panel (labelled “10101”) is available for diagnostic and troubleshooting
purposes.
The Serial port on the UDM-0404is an RJ12 connector, and requires a DB9-to-RJ12 adapter cable
(FG-RS01) to connect to a PC for Terminal control.
Serial Port - Default Communication Settings
Use hyper terminal with default serial settings to communicate with the UDM-0404 (and UDM-RX01):

Connecting the Serial port on the UDM-0404 is not an essential step in the
installation process.
