9 Reinsert the waste bin and the drip tray and close the service door.
cleaning the steam pipe
You can disassemble the steam pipe to clean it thoroughly.
1 Turn the outer sleeve anticlockwise a quarter turn and pull it off the
steam pipe.
 Pull the inner sleeve off the steam pipe.
 Clean all parts with hot water.
 Slide the inner sleeve back onto the steam pipe.
5 Slide the outer sleeve back onto the steam pipe and turn it clockwise
a quarter turn.
Descaling
Regular descaling prolongs the life of the appliance and guarantees an
optimal coffee flavour.
Run the descaling program when the message ‘PLEASE DESCALE!’ appears
on the display (see section ‘Descaling program’ in chapter ‘Setting menu
parameters’).
