What to do

If the coffee grinder is very

noisy, this means a small stone

in the coffee beans has blocked

the mill.

Contact an authorised Philips service centre.

LESS GROUND

COFFEE!

The ground coffee funnel is

clogged.

Switch off the appliance and empty the funnel

with the handle of a spoon. Be careful not to

damage the funnel.

You have put too much ground

coffee in the appliance.

Reduce the quantity of ground coffee. Then

brew coffee again.

PLEASE

DESCALE!

This indicates the presence

of scale in the appliance.

Perform the descaling procedure as soon as

possible (see section ‘Descaling program’ in

chapter ‘Setting menu parameters’).

CLOSE DOOR!

The service door is open.

Close the service door. If the service door

cannot be closed, make sure that the brewing

unit is inserted correctly (see section ‘Cleaning

the brewing unit’ in chapter ‘Cleaning’).

INSERT

BREWING UNIT!

You have probably not

reinserted the brewing unit

after you cleaned it.

Insert the brewing unit (see section ‘Cleaning

the brewing unit’ in chapter ‘Cleaning’).

GENERIC ALARM! The inside of the appliance is

very dirty.

Switch off the appliance and clean the inside of

the appliance thoroughly, as described in chapter

‘Cleaning’. If the message is still displayed after

you have cleaned the appliance, contact an

authorised Philips service centre.
