and the sensors measure the load applied, the displacement, and the specimen compression. The controller
transfers the data to the testing software, and the software provides the results and reports per test
configuration. If you have the appropriate fixtures, bending/flexural or shearing tests can be done in the
compression space.

Warning

:

A hazardous zone exists within and around the load frame perimeter, including the actuators,
crosshead, columns, lifts, specimen fixtures, and any equipment that can move or any
equipment that is in the path of actuator movement. Movement of any equipment, even under
normal test conditions, can be sudden, and with high force.

Death or severe injury can occur when any part of your body is crushed by moving equipment.

Keep all personnel at least 2 m (6 ft) away from the perimeter of the load frame and hydraulic
components when the system is in operation. If you must work on or near the system, use
extreme caution and avoid crush points when operating the crosshead position controls and
when installing or removing a specimen. If a procedure does not require hydraulic pressure,
you should first remove hydraulic pressure from the system and make sure there is no hydraulic
pressure or stored energy in the system.
