To Enter an Operator ID:
1. Select ID to display the ID SELECTS menu:
Note: A cuvette must be inserted into the instrument to display the ID SELECTS menu.
2. Press 2 to display the screen for entering the OID:
3. Scan the OID from a barcode label using the internal barcode scanner, or enter it using the keypad.
a. To scan the OID from a barcode label, position the scanner port approximately four inches
from the barcode label (see page 5) and then press PRINT/SCAN. The scanned OID and a
Stored confirmation message are displayed:
b. To enter the OID manually, type the OID using the keypad and then press and hold ENTER. The
entered OID and a Stored confirmation message are displayed as shown above.
Note: Up to 16 numeric and/or alphabetic characters can be entered. Press the NOTE key to
change from numeric to alphabetical characters or vice versa.
If alphabetic characters are being entered, advance from the displayed letter to the next
letter on that key by pressing the key again before the cursor advances.
Note: The OID can be designated (or changed) anytime unless operator lockout is enabled
through Configuration Manager. Check the OID by pressing ID and then pressing 2 to
display the entered value.
Entering a Mandatory Cuvette Lot Number and Expiration Date
Entry of the cuvette lot number and expiration date can be required for completion of a test.
Note: Prompts for entry of cuvette lot information are only displayed if the appropriate cuvette lot
option is enabled through Configuration Manager (see page 56). If Required, Scan Only,
and/or Pre-stored Only are selected as a cuvette lot option, the corresponding prompts to enter
the information are automatically displayed. If none of the cuvette lot options are selected, there
is no other means for cuvette lot information to be entered.
To Enter Mandatory Cuvette Information:
1. The prompt to enter a cuvette lot number is automatically displayed when a cuvette is inserted:
2. Select the cuvette lot number from the list, scan the cuvette lot number, or enter it using the keypad.
a. To select the cuvette lot number from the list, press the numeral key for that lot number. For
example, press 2 to select lot number L5NCS055 in the example above.
