Reading or Loading Configuration Data
Select Configuration in the Configuration Manager main menu to display the Read Configuration Data
dialog box. This dialog box allows configuration data to be read from a connected instrument or a different
configuration file to be loaded:

Note: HEMOCHRON Configuration Manager uses a Microsoft Windows user interface. Software
features are intuitive and easy to learn. Refer to Windows documentation for instructions on
navigation, access to commands and Help, execution of commands, and shortcuts that can be
taken.
Note: The Instrument Type drop-down list is used when loading a configuration from the
database. If a configuration is read from a connected instrument, the instrument type is
automatically detected and displayed.
Note: Load the default HEMOCHRON Signature Elite settings by selecting Factory Default from
the Configuration/Revision drop-down list. These settings can be modified and saved under a
different configuration file name. The Factory Default configuration file cannot be overwritten or
purged from the database.

To Read Configuration Data from a Connected Instrument:

1.

Click Read From Instrument. The Read Configuration from Instrument dialog box is displayed:

2.

Establish communication to the instrument as described on pages 46 and 47.

Note: If the instrument is connected over a network, select <Listen on Network> from the
drop-down list in the Connect via box. Otherwise, if prompted, designate the COM port by
selecting it from the drop-down list.

Note: When the POCT-1A communication protocol is used, HEMOCHRON Configuration Manager
cannot communicate with the instrument over the COM port.
