Configuring OSPF Features (CLI)

This section provides information about the commands you use to configure

and view OSPF settings on the switch. This section does not describe all

available show commands. For more information about all available OSPF

commands, see the

Configuring Global OSPF Settings

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to

configure various global OSPF settings for the switch.

Command

Purpose

configure

Enter global configuration mode.

router ospf

Enter OSPF configuration mode.

router-id

ip-address

Set the 4-digit dotted-decimal number that uniquely

identifies the router.

auto-cost reference-

bandwidth

ref_bw

Set the reference bandwidth used in the formula to

compute link cost for an interface:
link cost = ref_bw÷interface bandwidth
The

ref_bw variable is the reference bandwidth in Mbps

(Range: 1–4294967).

capability opaque

Allow OSPF to store and flood opaque LSAs. An opaque

LSA is used for flooding user defined information within

an OSPF router domain.

compatible rfc1583

(Optional) Enable compatibility with RFC 1583.
If all OSPF routers in the routing domain are capable of

operating according to RFC 2328, OSPF 1583

compatibility mode should be disabled.
