Using as a Telephone Answering Machine

• If there is no tape installed, the unit will not turn

on (ANSWER ON). (Except for ANN ONLY

mode)

• If the unit receives a call during operation, the

operation is automatically canceled and the

phone rings.

For best recording results

Record in a quiet room and speak close (about

20 cm/8 inches) to the unit.

To play back your OGM for confirmation

Press OG®.

To change your OGM

Record a new OGM over the previous one.

OGM backup function

• If a power interruption occurs and there are

fresh back-up batteries in the base unit, the

OGM will be retained in memory for about 24

hours.

• If the power interruption occurs and the

back-up batteries in the base unit are

exhausted, the OGM will be erased. If this

happens, "P” indication appears in the
message counter LED when the power is
restored. In this case, record the OGM, and

set the current time (page 20) and the ID
code (see page 40) again.

Setting the Recording Time

To let the unit record the incoming messages

(ICM), follow the steps below. There are

three options for incoming message recording

time.
The unit will be able to record up to 19

incoming messages.

You cannot turn on the unit without recording your
greeting (OGM) first (see page 31).

time by the REC TIME switch according to
the following table.

Press (ANSWER).

After you play back messages, make sure if you

have enough tape to take more messages. If not,

either press (TAPE RESET) or change to a new

tape.

Turning Off the Answering Machine

Open the lid and press( STOP/PLAY)
The ANSWER lamp goes off.

You cannot turn off the answering machine by
pressing (ANSWER).

Turning on the Answering Machine

Press (ANSWER).

The ANSWER lamp lights up.

When the Tape is Fuii with Messages

After you play back the messages of the tape

and turn off the answering machine, you must
press (TAPE RESET) before pressing

(ANSWER) to turn on the answering

machine.
