Cleaning the cabinet

Clean the cabinet with a soft cloth slightly

moistened with water or a mild detergent

solution. DO NOT use solvents such as
alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as they may mar

the finish.

Head cleaning

Dirty tape heads will harm recording and

playback quality, and may cause
malfunctioning. Clean them regularly. Open

the lid and remove the microcassette. Wipe
the head, the pinch roller and the capstan
with a cotton swab slightly moistened in
cleaning fluid or denatured alcohol. You can
also use a soft cloth.

• The base unit will not operate during power

interruption.

• After the power is restored, if the back-up

batteries are not installed or the batteries

are exhausted, “P” indication blinks in the

message counter LED. This means that the

OGM, the number of messages, the ID code
and the current time are erased. (Press any

button on the base unit to turn off “P”
indication.) In this case, set the current

time, record the OGM and set the ID code
again.

Incorrect battery usage may lead to leakage

of battery fluid or bursting of batteries. To

prevent such accidents, obsen/e the following
precautions:

• Install the + and - poles of the batteries

correctly.

• When installing batteries, do not mix new

and used batteries, or batteries of different
types.

• Do not try to recharge batteries.
• When you will not be using the telephone

for a long period of time, remove the

batteries. If a battery leak should develop,

carefully and thoroughly wipe away battery
fluid from the battery compartment.
