You will now be able to follow the steps of 5.17.1 (Selecting a Language) to
select the new language. Do not forget that after you have done that you must exit
the program and re-start in order for the new language file be in effect.
5.17 CREATING AND EDITING WELD HEAD TEMPLATES
When creating a weld schedule the system will ask you to select what weld head (model/name)
the weld schedule will be used with. This determines the degree of weld schedule functionality
(current only, wire feed, avc, levels, sensors, etc) and special features. If the model number you
have does not appear and no other model number has the same exact features then a new Weld
Head Template must be created.
NOTE
Creating and editing a Weld Head Template can only be done by someone with a "programmer"
level of Logon and Password entry.
1. CREATING A WELD HEAD TEMPLATE
1. After using the correct Logon and Password select "Setup" from the main menu. Then select
"Edit Weld Heads". A "Weld Head Wizard" dialogue box will appear.
2. Select "File" in the active menu and then select "New". A "Create New Weld Head"
box will appear. Enter the Weld Head name or Model number to be used.
3. Under head type there are three buttons. If the Weld Head to be created is a typical pipe
Weld Head (Travel, AVC, OSC, Wire Feed), etc. then select "Typical Pipe". If the Weld
Head is typical Tube (rotation only for fusion welding) select "Typical Tube". If almost
everything about the weld head is unique then select "Blank". When done select OK.
A dialogue box called "Weld Head Wizard – (the model number you entered)" will appear.
Setting up the Weld Head Wizard is now basically an "Editing function" . At this point
proceed to 5.18.2.3 for editing information.
2. EDITING A WELD HEAD TEMPLATE
1. After using the correct Logon and Password select "Setup" from the main menu. Then select
"Edit Weld Heads". A "Weld Head Wizard" dialogue box will appear.
2. Select "File" in the active menu and then select "Open". An "Open Weld Head" box
will appear. Use the scroll bar to find the weld head you wish to edit. Highlight it and
select OK. This will open the Weld Head Template for editing.
3. When a Weld Head Template has been opened the Weld Head Wizard will display a box
that defines the weld head functionality. From this box the user can:
1. Define "Coolant Used" – If the weld head is liquid cooled this box should be checked.
2. Define "GND Fault Used" – If the weld head has a ground fault sense this box should
be checked.
3. Define "Start Mode" – Some weld heads are RF start only. Some are Touch start
only and some are capable of both. Select the button that applies.
4. Define "Head Position" - If the weld head has a feedback device for displaying weld
head position then check the "Enabled" box. If checked then select "Edit" under the
box to Unit of Measure, Digital or analog feedback and feedback voltage scale.
5. Add notes – Select this button to note any special conditions or information about
this weld head.
4. Using the Main Menu of this same Weld Head Wizard Box the user can:
