2.3.3. Hardware Installation
The individual components of the
color-view™ Spectrophotometer
System are installed first before they are integrated. The system
components must first be in a known proper operational state before
integration is attempted. This avoids having to carry out time-
consuming troubleshooting procedures.
The tools required for installation are:
• Standard flat blade screwdriver
• Phillips head screwdriver
2.3.3.1 Computer System
The Computer System and its associated peripherals are installed and
checked-out in accordance with the procedures detailed in their
respective documentation.
When the Computer System has been found to be in satisfactory
operating condition, proceed to Section 2.3.3.2 for optional printer
installation if a printer is included with your system. If no printer is
included, proceed to Section 2.3.3.3.
2.3.3.2
Printer
The optional printer unit is installed and checked-out in accordance
with the procedures detailed in its documentation package. For
proper operation with BYK-Gardner Quality Control software, the
printer is connected to a parallel port of the host computer.
The optional parallel printer cable is used to connect the printer to
the host computer (see also section 2.3.3.4).
