3.3.6 Using the Sample Rotator

The Sample rotator is used with granular or powdered samples.
These samples can be measured rapidly, with fewer resamples by
virtue of the spinning cup. The cup center is offset from the center of
the viewing port to allow more of the sample (and varying degrees of
orientation) to be viewed.

1

Calibrate the

color-view™

using the Glass Plate supplied

with the Sample Rotator option.

2

Remove the Glass plate and install the Sample Rotator
aligning the 2 pin in the Sample Rotator with the 2 holes
in the top of the instrument.

3

Fill the sample cup with the material to be measured.
Place the cup in the rotator and turn on the power switch.

4

Adjust the software (see software help menu) to take
multiple measurements at an interval that is appropriate
for the sample being measured. (This may require some
experimentation to achieve the optimum interval and
number of averages for a particular material)

5

The Sample Cup may be removed and refilled without
turning off the power switch.
