Sample Viewer (Retroviewer)

A sample viewer (retroviewer) is built into the four Standard
Configuration

color-view™

Spectrophotometers. The retroviewer

feature allows viewing of the specimen area to be measured prior to
measurement. It may be used with both the standard Large Area of
View (LAV) and the optional Small Area of View (SAV) features.
The retroviewer is helpful in aligning the area of specimens to be
measured with the port aperture.

To measure a sample:

1

Select the appropriate keys from the BYK-Gardner
software that will move the paddle out of position (see
Software Help Menu for details).

2

Look into the window mounted at the rounded corner of
the instrument nearest to the Reflectance Port. You will
see a projected image of the Sample area you are about to
measure.

Operator Controls

The Rear Panel of the Spectrophotometer Unit provides the mounting
for the Power ON/OFF switch (Figure 3-2). This switch controls the
application of AC power to the Spectrophotometer Unit.
