Modbus Implementation

1. Modbus can be used as long as it is ACSII (Modbus RTU is not currently active)

Packet framing: Data bits=7 / Parity= Even/Odd/None / Stop bit=1.
Note 1: After setting Modbus to ASCII, the remote port will not work using the Native protocol Sandia.
Note 2: The direct port will always work with Sandia protocol (native).

2. Set up Modbus in the “Configure” column/ “Site Info”

a. Baud rate should match the baud rate of the modem connected to the remote port of the instrument.
b. Parity: Even/ Odd/ None. Select this option for Modbus.
c. Modbus address: Default is “001” Use this for multi-dropping more than one unit to the same modem

(Range= 001- 255)

d. Modbus Mode: ASCII / RTU. Select the type of Modbus required (RTU is not active at this time).

DOWNLOADING AND PRINTING DATA

To download data follow the steps below:

1. Run the HDR Host software.
2. Go to the “Data” column & click “Select Downloads”
3. Select the reports to download (or click the “select all” button).
4. (Optional) Enter custom filename all reports will use.
5. Click “OK” button to save files.

To print Profiler data follow the steps below:

1. Run the HDR Host software.
2. Go to the “Data” column/ Choose “Print Profiler”.
3. Select the report to print: “High Granularity” “Daily” or “Monthly”.
4. Choose the filename of file to report.
5. Choose the date & time span to report on the calendars.
6. Select “Send output to”:

a. Console (creates text file and displays the file on your screen. This file can be saved).
b. Printer (prints report on the printer that is attached to the computer).
c. File (must type a filename for a text document that will be created. Example: Monthly.doc).
d. Spreadsheet (selected data will be displayed in Excel automatically)


To print IOR (Instrument Operational Report) data follow the steps below:

1. Run the HDR Host software.
2. Go to the “Data” column.
3. Select the report to print: “Print IOR Snapshot”.
4. Choose the filename of file to report.
5. Choose the time span to report on the calendars or choose “Last Report”.
6. Select “Send output to”:

a. Console (creates text file and you can view the file on your screen).
b. Printer (prints report on the printer that is attached to the computer).
