8.1.3 Lid locks

The locking bolts of both lid locks are exposed to HCl vapours during
operation of the RVC and must be protected against corrosion by greasing
them with oil for precision engineering at least once a year.
• Open the lid.
• Switch off the mains power switch and disconnect the power cord.
• Let the RVC cool down to room temperature, if necessary.
• Put a drop of oil for precision engineering to the locking bolts of both lid

locks by inserting the oil-pen in the hook opening.

8.1.4 Accessories

CAUTION

For the care of the accessories, special safety measures must be
considered as these are measures that will ensure operational safety at
the same time.

Chemical reactions as well as stress-corrosion (combination of oscillating
pressure and chemical reaction) can affect or destroy the metals. Barely
detectable cracks on the surface can expand and weaken the material
without any visible signs.
• Check the material regularly (at least once a month) for

– cracks
– visible damage of the surface
– pressure marks
– signs of corrosion
– other changes.
