Setting Up Your Sashiko

After removing the packing materials from the box, gently lift your Baby Lock Sashiko by grasp-
ing the handle provided on the top of the machine. Place the machine on a sewing table or any
sturdy level surface that provides ample work space to the left of the machine.

Before connecting the power supply, make sure the voltage and frequency shown on the machine
conforms to your electrical power.

With the sewing machine turned off, insert the foot control plug and the power cord into their
appointed connectors as illustrated below. Then plug the power cord into an electrical wall outlet.

The sewing speed of the machine is determined by the amount of the pressure applied to the foot
control. Do not place anything on the foot control, or the machine could inadvertently start and
the foot control or motor could burn out.

This machine uses foot control model YC-485EC.

CAUTION: Never leave machine unattended when plugged in.
Always unplug this machine from the electrical wall outlet immediately after using and before
maintenance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt as how to connect the machine to
the power source.

Polarized plug information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider
than the other) to reduce the risk of electrical shock;
this plug will only fit in a polarized outlet one way. If the
plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not
modify the plug in any way. (For U.S.A. only)
