Assigning an Output to the Network

In AE Config, create a new output. Assign it the appropriate number of channels (1 for mono, 2 for

stereo). Give it a Unique Name and surface label. For example, let’s put program out on the
network for another studio to listen to:

The Unique Name and Surface Label will be transmitted to all other JetStreams on the network.
The Surface Label will appear on the control surface (console) and the Unique Name will appear in

the JetStream Server software where you are assigning the sources to the faders and destinations.
The Unique Name is a good place to put studio names (ie “Studio 1 Mic 1” whereas on the console

itself you may only want to call it “Mic 1.” The Unique Name should be unique throughout the
entire system. It is acceptable to have identical surface labels so long as they don't both appear on

the same control surface.
In our example, “Pgm to net” will appear on the other JetStreams. In your environment, you would

probably want to have your call letters or studio name there: “Studio A Program” “KUHF Program”
or “WKDF Aux 1.”
In Number of Channels, put 1 for mono and 2 for stereo.
