Appendix C: WAN PORT LINK STATUS

PPPoE link status

“PPPoE offline. Ready to
connect.”

The device’s wan port is not connected to the ISP’s
dial-up server. The dial-up connection to the Internet
is now available.

"Connecting to server."

The device's WAN port is now dialing the dial-up
server.

"Server found."

The device dialed the dial-up server, and is
negotiating with the dial-up server.

"Start PPP negotiation."

Negotiation is ongoing.

"Authentication (PAP)."

The server is verifying the dial-up account using the
PAP method.

"Authentication (CHAP)."

The server is verifying the dial-up account using the
CHAP method.

"Obtaining WAN IP address."

Authentication is successful. The device is now
obtaining the IP address from the dial-up server.

"Connect successfully."

The device dialed the server successfully. The user
can now connect to the internet.

"Can not find server."

The device cannot dial the dial-up server. Dial-up to
the server failed.

"Fail on LCP stage."

Configuration for the network link failed.

"Authentication (PAP) failure."

Failed in authentication; failure was caused by an
incorrect password.

"Authentication (CHAP)
failure."

Identification verification of the device dial-up
account failed.

"Fail to Obtain WAN IP
address."

The device cannot obtain the IP address from the
dial-up server. Dial-up to the server failed.

"Server

dropped

the

connection."

The server cut the device's internet connection.
The device is disconnected from the Internet.

"Disconnect on idle."

The device has been idle longer than the idle interval
and was cut off from the connection. The idle
interval value was set in the field "Auto-disconnect if
idle xxx Minutes".

"Connection establishment
timeout."

The device was re-trying dial-up to the server and
failed. The device finally gave up dialing the
server.
