Video Setting

TV

Default settings are underlined.

Set the video output signal according to the connected TV.

Setting items

TV Aspect ( Aspect ratio)
Set the screen type and
display mode of the TV.

16:9 Squeeze Auto : Outputs to a wide screen TV. For 4:3 video, displays
in the center of the screen without changing the aspect ratio.

WIDE (16:9) : Outputs to a wide-screen TV.
4:3 PS : Outputs to a 4:3 TV. For wide video, trim the left and right side of
the image and display in 4:3 aspect ratio.

4:3 LB : Outputs to a 4:3 TV. Displays all of the wide video.

Wallpaper
Setting for displaying the
background when playback
is stopped.

Picture : Displays the Marantz logo.
Black : Sets the background to black.
Gray : Sets the background to gray.
Blue : Sets the background to blue.

Progressive Mode

Sets an appropriate
progressive conversion
mode for the source video
material.

Auto : Detects the type of video material and automatically switches the
mode. Normally, this setting is used.
Video : Suitable for playing video material discs.
Film : Suitable for playing fi lm material discs.

1 This has no effect with the video output.

2 Depending on the video content, even though you set it to 4:3 PS (Pan Scan), the content may be

output in 4:3 LB (Letter Box).

3 This mode is activated for the video source of 480i/576i.

HDMI

Default settings are underlined.

Set the HDMI output signal.

Color Space
Sets the video signal system
to be output from HDMI.

YCbCr : Outputs using the color difference video system (16 (black) to
235 (white)).

RGB : Outputs using the RGB video system (16 (black) to 235 (white)).

HDMI Deep Color
Sets the HDMI terminal to
output Deep Color. Expands
the color depth (number of
used colors) of the HDMI
video signal, enabling
playback with more natural
colors and free of streaking.

Auto : Deep Color is automatically output when the connected HDMI
device supports Deep Color.
Off : No Deep Color output.

Closed Caption
This setting outputs a
subtitles signal to a closed
caption decoder (sold
separately).

Off : Does not output the closed caption (subtitle) signal.
On : Outputs the closed caption (subtitle) signal.

Angle Mark
For making settings for the
angle mark displayed in
playback.

If multiple angle marks are recorded on the disc being played, an angle
mark is displayed while the scene including an angle is being played.
Off : An angle mark is not displayed.
On : An angle mark is displayed.

PIP Mark
For making settings for
the PIP mark displayed in
playback.

If secondary video is recorded on the disc being played, a PIP mark is
displayed while the scene including secondary video is being played.
Off : A PIP mark is not displayed.
On : A PIP mark is displayed.

Secondary Audio Mark
For making settings for
the secondary audio mark
displayed in playback.

If secondary audio is recorded on the disc being played, a secondary audio
mark is displayed while the scene including secondary audio is being
played.
Off : A secondary audio mark is not displayed.
On : A secondary audio mark is displayed.

DivX Registration
Displays the DivX®
registration code.

Show Code : Displays the DivX® registration code.

Remote ID
(Unit side)
Sets the remote control ID.
(vpage 44)

Switches the unit’s remote control ID code when other Marantz BD
players are in the vicinity.
BD 1 : Set the code setting on the remote control to “1”.
BD 2 : Set the code setting on the remote control to “2”.

Netfl ix Deactivate
For deactivating the Netfl ix
audience function.

No : For activating the Netfl ix audience function.
Yes : For deactivating the Netfl ix audience function.
Netfl ix ESN : A unique Netfl ix ESN (Electric Serial Number) that can use
Netfl ix stream service is displayed.
